The Legend: According to European legend, certain people posses a wolf belt. This belt allows them to change into a werewolf. Most countries have their own variation of this tale. Hollywood, too,
has made up its own stories. I'm sure you have all heard about the legend of the werewolf, in one form or another. Did you know people have superstitions regarding dogs as well? Some people believe that dogs are able to see ghosts, spirits, fairies and other legendary beings, that humans cannot see. Some people have beliefs about dogs that are similar to the beliefs about cats. A belief originating in Europe, says that dogs are the ghosts of evil people. Dogs were often feared to carry rabies. In days of old, if a person was ill, the dog was fed a piece of the ill person's hair in a bread and butter sandwich. It was believed that the illness would then pass to the dog. The Scottish believed a new friendship would occur if a strange dog approached your house. The English believed they would have good luck if they passed a spotted or black and white dog on the way to a business appointment. Fisherman believed that dogs were unlucky and it was especially unlucky to say the word dog while sailing. The Truth: The werewolf legend is a myth. As far as a dog being lucky or unlucky, that too is a myth. Your future relies upon your actions and reactions.
