Austin's Haunted Spaces

Here are a just a few local spots that have a legend of being haunted.  We'll let you be the judge. 

Littlefield Home -- the ghost of it's former owners still haunt this house.

Littlefield Dorm -- the daughter of Littlefield for whom this dorm was built is said to haunt the halls of her former college home.  She plays practical jokes on the current residents such as turning lights and stereos on and off.

Logan's on 6th Street -- doors swing open and a loud crackling can be heard on the second floor in the middle of the night.

Other Texas Hauntings

Anson -- Anson Lights -- The story was covered by the television series Unsolved Mysteries about a year ago.  Many residents from Anson and the near town of Abilene have gone to witness these phenomenal lights.  The cemetery is located going towards the country.  The lights are viewed by driving down the dirt farm road equivalent of about a half mile or more.  As you drive closer to the cemetery towards the lights they disappear.  As for the actual story for this occurrence, it is unsolved.

Lockhart -- Lockhart County Court and Jail House -- Closed in the early 70s, it was made into a museum that is opened on the weekends.  The top three levels are what was once the old jail.  The whole place gives off bad vibes.  It's sad and creepy at the same time.

Hutto -- Jakes Bridge -- Well the bridge is what is haunted, if you park your car into neutral it will be pushed across the bridge which is totally flat.

Waco -- Baylor University -- Some of Elizabeth Barrett Browning's original works are kept in the old Library on campus.  She has been seen walking the halls at night holding a candle, wearing a white gown.  Also, a statue of her sits out in front of the library.

Just one of many -- San Antonio -- The Menger Hotel -- Haunted by 38 known ghosts, including Teddy Roosevelt, a lady in blue, Captain Richard King, and many others.

The Shadowlands website began in 1994, The Shadowlands has been dedicated to informing and enlightening visitors on such topics as Ghosts and hauntings, mysterious creatures such as Bigfoot and Sea Serpents, UFOs and Aliens, and many other unsolved mysteries. The webmaster has provided general information on some subjects and a bit more in depth info on others as his  time and experiences allow. If you read these pages with an open mind you should come away with a better understanding of these mysteries. While all of these subjects are laughed at or frowned upon by many, I challenge you to at least take the time to decide for yourself. Text files, video, sounds, pictures, eye witness accounts and more have been included on the pages.  New information is always being added and updates to  various pages are made on a monthly basis. I have also have created a few pages to visit when you need a break from the norm or the studies here. There is something for everyone here so take the time to look around The Shadowlands and stop back often, there's always something new....

This is a very impressive website.  For those of you who really want to experience the other world, there is much helpful advice and a few warnings.  If you prefer, you can simply enjoy the experiences of others.
