Home:  The open woodlands of Vietnam was the original home of the Potbellied Pig

Food:  Plants, roots and insects

Size:  Approximately 3 feet long and 15 inches tall
            70 to 150 pounds

Potbellied Pig Trivia:

  • The first Potbellied Pig was imported to the United States in 1986.

  • Potbellied Pigs do not reach their full growth size until they are 5 years of age.

  • Potbellied Pigs wallow in the mud to protect themselves from sunburn.

  • Potbellied Pigs have a straight tail, unlike other pigs.

  • Because the Potbellied Pig was a food source to large predator animals in Vietnam, picking up the pig can cause it to become very frightened.

  • Potbellied Pigs are very intelligent.

  • You can feed the Potbellied Pigs in the Petting Farm.
