Singing Dog Trivia:

  • The New Guinea Singing Dog dates back to prehistoric times.  They have lived wild and partially domesticated.

  • The wild Singing Dogs are carnivores.

  • The first captured dogs were sent to zoos in Europe and the United States in 1957.

  • Some domesticated dogs now live with people as pets.

  • These dogs are lively, alert and active.

  • To communicate, the Singing Dogs yelp, whine and howl, as though singing.

  • These dogs are generally gentle and affectionate with people, but may be aggressive towards other dogs.
