AUSTIN
PET REGISTRATION
In order to identify and more
quickly reunite lost pets with their owners, the City of Austin
requires that all dogs and cats, whether indoor or outdoor
pets, be registered with the City each year. Significant benefits
are conferred to registered pets and their owners. If your
pet is already tattooed/microchipped, the tattoo or chip number
will be recorded at no extra charge with purchase of a Pet
Registration tag.
Pet Registration tags cost $15 for intact animals or $5 for
spayed/neutered animals (proof of spay/neuter is required).
Persons age 62 or older can received up to two tags at no
charge for spayed/neutered pets only. Dogs trained
and certified to assist the disabled can be registered at
no charge. Proof of rabies vaccination is required. For animals
that cannot be vaccinated for health reasons, please have
your veterinarian call the Pet Registration office at 512/708-6000.
You can bring or mail your rabies vaccination certificate(s)
and a check in the appropriate amount to:
